Our Policy

Protection Of Women And Students Against Sexual Harassment At Workplace

The school is committed to maintaining at all times, a learning and working environment free of sexual harassment and intimidation. Sexual harassment of or by any board member, parent, volunteer, administrator, faculty member, employee, student or guest is strictly prohibited.

As per the guidelines issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and CBSE instructions vide CBSE/Admn.I/14(6)/2004 dated February 16, 2004 on Sexual Harassment of Women and Students at work place in the institutions, VKV Rishabhdev is committed to providing and continuing to provide a cooperative and comfortable work environment free of sexual harassment of any kind.

The sexual harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and rules framed there under, the complaints committee earlier constituted under the guidelines and norms laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Others, vide circular dated 30 May 2013, has now been constituted as per section 4 (1) of the above act.

There for keeping the above in view Vivekanda Kendra Vidyalaya, Rishabhdev, has finalized its format policy for implementation on Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal against Sexual Harassment of women and students at work place as under.

1. OBJECTIVES

VKV Rishabhdev is committed to maintaining an environment within the School that is free from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a serious issue which undermines morale and can adversely affect the ability of staff and students to effectively undertake their roles within the School.

2. PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to articulate the School’s commitment to the elimination of sexual harassment. VKV Rishbhdev regards sexual harassment as a serious breach. The School supports the rights of individuals to be free from sexual harassment while engaged in activities undertaken at the School.

As an educational institution and an employer, the School will take all reasonable steps to eliminate sexual harassment of or by staff, students, or other members of the School community.

This policy aims to:

1. Create a working and learning environment that is free from sexual harassment and where all members of the School community are treated with courtesy, dignity and respect.

2. Promote appropriate standards of conduct at all times.

3. Implement strategies to ensure that all members of the School community know their rights and responsibilities in this area.

4. Encourage the reporting of prohibited behaviour.

5. Provide an effective complaints procedure based on principles of natural justice.

6. Treat all complaints in a serious, sensitive, fair and timely manner.

7. Guarantee against victimisation or reprisals.

3. SCOPE

This policy and procedure will cover all staff, students, volunteers and contractors at VKV Rishabhdev.
